Stepping out on faith

This has been a rough 8 years but I am finally ready to get out there and make mama proud of me. My mother lost a battle with that nasty azz breast cancer almost 8 years ago and I have felt every second of it (except the time I spent smoking drugs).

Now I'm ready I have wonderful children and an amazing family. Not to mention that I'm dangerously close to getting my degree on Culinary Arts.

Yes I think I'm ready.

I haven't posted in a while. Things got ugly after my last post. They haven't gotten any better. In fact they've gotten worse. Not a lot of baking going on where it live. I go to school (my only refuge) and I spend time with my daughter. The ogre fusses the whole time. Soon I will be leaving the swamp and the ogre. Where will I go? That remains to be seen. I need a job. I will not turn my daughter's life upside down again.

The butter experiment

Melting butter .....

Today since I'm STILL snowed in I'm gonna try a new experiment. Since European butter is butter with less moisture than US butter I'm gonna try to make it. I'm gonna use the process for clarifying butter but instead of removing the fat solids that rise to the top I'm gonna remove the liquids that sink to the bottom. Pray for me.
